Although the UK release of Unbroken has been postponed until 2nd April 2012, Demi Lovato’s third studio album was released in the states back in September 2011.

Still released through Hollywood Records, Lovato has since matured her sound from previous releases. Steering away from the Kelly Clarkson/Paramore Pop/Rock style, the Camp Rock star has been quoted as saying Keri Hilson and Rihanna are influences for the new album.

Unbroken is an album which really does cater for all tastes. The lead single, the stunning Skyscraper, is one of the only ballad-type songs on the release. The single is a genre-breaking honest anthem and really showcases the strength and power of Lovato’s music.

Progressing musically, the album opens with the dance-pop Timbaland produced All Night Long. The track features both Timbaland and Missy Elliot and kicks Unbroken off with a pretty faultless start. More impressive collaborations follow, with Dev, Iyaz and Jason Derulo all making an appearance. Who’s That Boy (feat. Dev) is a particular highlight, a Ryan Tedder written track that will be sure to be on repeat for days to come. It is a track that you wish to come on whilst on a night out!

Lovato’s voice is the real showcase of Unbroken. It has always been known that Demi can belt out a pretty impressive note but she really has matured into her voice. The album has been influenced by her recent personal battles and shows in track Fix A Heart. In the spine-tingling chilling piano lead belter, Lovato’s killer vocals sing “’I ended up with wounds to bind/and I just ran out of Band-Aids”, relating to her cutting addictions. The 19 year old, who co-wrote four of the fourteen tracks, also pleas to her father to “put the bottle down” in even more honest For The Love Of A Daughter.

Demi ticks all the boxes with this release. She has the right balance between emotion and fun and ultimately has never sounded better in the process. Other stand out tracks are the dancefloor filler title track Unbroken, potential second single – the catchy Give Your Heart A Break and the token perfect pop track In Real Life which features one of the best chorus’ around at the moment.

Demi Lovato is not the typical pop princess taken from The Disney Channel. She has broken from the stereotype and put her heart, soul and every single ounce of emotion in this virtually perfect release.

Ugh next week is gonna be confusing with the radio updates. There will be changes on the whole pop panel. Some stations will be removed and a lot of stations will be added.
Hopefully it has a good effect for Demi.
Oh and apparently today there's only 23 hours of tracking. This means if tomorrow's update will be negative it wouldn't mean anything, because one hour is missing.

If they continue like they did until now, we'll have a single every 6 months xD so... that would be 2,5 years until they're finished with the era.

I want new music sooner than in 2.5 years xD
