Am I the only 1 who forgot she has an album coming out after the Superbowl happened. I'm being serious. The hype for this new project seems to be decreasing. Does Madonna usually promote or does she depend on her name like Britney? What is the next single?

All of this is sad.

She hasn't promoted properly since ROL, her last album to be promoted properly was Ray of Light, tbh.

Girls Gone Wild is the next single (see the thread here in the MN section). She never does heavy promotion like other artists. Hopefully, the hype will be back when the album's release date draws closer.

I don't think she really cares anymore. She probably just doesn't give two *****, and her name STILL sells out arenas and stadiums instantaneously, which is how she makes her money, so as long as she can still do that, she probably cares less if her albums flop or not at this point. Though I really don't know what she is going to do after this album.

"G.A.Y.Luvin'" was just to coincide with the Superbowl. No wonder it flopped in the UK and other countries. "Girls Gone Wild" will be the real hit of the "MDNA" era.
And I hope Interscope will push her to do some promo around the album's release.

The people who thought her singles would do well were delusional anyway. GGW is gonna bomb, too.

It's all about the tours for Madge these days, and that's fine.

I highly doubt it, but let's see. It's strange that it was not successful in the UK, she usually does well there, even with no promotion... "Celebration", with that bomb of a video, got a #3 there. I mean.

Then she should at least flop with better music.

The US was not really here for her after American Life (2003). If you look at the UK charts, for example, she did infintely better:

There's a clear difference.

She signed a contract with Live Nation for more than 100 million dollars, for touring.

The deal she has with interscope isn't even a contract, Live Nation is licensing the album distribution and promotion to Interscope. She doesn't even get paid for that.

The album is just to make her 'relevant' so the tour does not seem random, and this was said by a 'source' in one of the early MDNA reports.

Judging by the snippet, I would not bet on it.

If she would just release something with at least a small amount of substance, of artistry, that could show she's really making an effort and that she really believes in it, everyone, including radio and the media, would be here for her.

As long as she stays with the generic, age inappropriate stuff, it will flop.

Though she inked an extremely high-profile “360″ deal with Live Nation back in 2007, Madonna still needs the label system to distribute her new music. After spending the entirety of her career in the bosom of Warner Bros., she has signed on with Interscope for a three album deal. According to Billboard, she’ll earn a base of $1 million per album ($40 million, according to Deadline.com’s Nikki Finke for the 3 albums), starting with her next release.

And what about her album being #1 in over 50 countries with PRE-SALES without even lifting a finger.

People didn't like the song, period. We will probably not need much more analysis.
