15. DAVID GUETTA - TITANIUM (featuring SIA)
Easily the best song on this album where the song tend to send identical to each other. Who knew Sia could slay a dance track like that? Flo Rida obviously took note of this song, even going so far as to collaborate with her on his album. 2012 is going to be a huge year for her & I'm so excited to see what happens. She's so underrated!
14. COLDPLAY - EVERY TEARDROP IS a WATERFALL
Let me just say that I am not a fan of X&Y or Viva la Vida. This album, however, is pure greatness, and why this song in particular flopped is beyond me. Incredible.
13. FLORENCE + the MACHINE - SHAKE IT OUT
From an epic album comes an epic first single. It has the loud, unapologetic stadium-sound of Cosmic Love, & even includes tribal accents, like the rest of her music. For such a quiet, petite girl, her vocals pack a major punch. The best part of this song is the portion between the second and third chorus, especially that life-giving belt right when the last chorus begins.
12. LADY GAGA - JUDAS
As song as this song flopped, ATRL dropped this song, but I, for one, have continued to love it. It's better than Bad Romance, & I don't even know why it flopped (ugh, we can partly blame TEoG). Despite its religious themes, this song has an airy summer vibe.
11. LADY GAGA - SCHEISSE
This song reminds me why she is the queen. It's bizarre, but she makes it work because of that HUMUNGOUS beat, insanely catchy chorus, & almost-inaudible yet understandable enough verses.
10. RIHANNA - FOOL IN LOVE
(More Farewell shade coming) so I really really love this bonus track, & why it didn't make the standard tracklist over other not-so-quality-made ballad tracks produced by Kids is beyond me. This is no previous-Rihanna song's wannabe, it's just pure vocals & honest delivery. Not to mention, it's slightly reminiscent of Rated R. What gets betta?
9. LIL WAYNE - HOW to LOVE
This song is such a surprise - I would've never expected Weezy F Baby to make such a heartfelt song over some type of folk-hip hop-pop beat that gives me life. I remember when this song first premiered in May & it slayed me immediatley. Definitely a highlight of TCIV & puts him on another artistic level imo.
8. COLDPLAY - PRINCESS of CHINA (featuring RIHANNA)
I NEVER (repeat) NEVER thought Coldplay would collaborate with anyone, let alone the biggest popstar in the world (arguably, excuse my hyberbole), so this song was such a magnificent surprise. My initial reavtion : yyaysu9ef9r494ut4jit4iogtgqjgejioge. My reaction after listening a couple times : that x iofeu09ru90r90r4. So yeah.
7. DRAKE - TAKE CARE (featuring RIHANNA)
Best Rihanna collaboration ever. Best Drake song ever. Best title track ever. Best song on Take Care. Future smash.
6. LADY GAGA - BLOODY MARY
Not only is this Lady GaGa's best song, it is also the perfect song to represent BtW - polarizing. A lot of people hate this song & think it embodies everything wrong with BtW - but I love the album, so I think it embodies everything right about the era. It's religious-themed while being intelligent & respectful at the same time.
