I think this is absolutely perfect. In the vast majority of other countries, both radio and sales are tallied but only sales contribute to the "Hot 100" equivalent. I think this is absolutely the way it should be. Since the inception of digital downloads on the Hot 100, we get a better picture of what people actually like, what they actually are buying- and not just what is being shoved down our throats by radio stations.
I almost say digital downloads should be worth a lot more (percentage-wise) but I'm sure it will swing that way as the number of installed users increases. In any case, this is a major major major improvement over what we used to have.
