Let's face it. It didn't matter which song she released as the lead, it was destined to be a worldwide hit. I just think MTN could've been a bigger hit, with more longevity. And I love BTW, by the way. But MTN could've been a 4x/5xPlatinum single if released as the lead, as it would have maintained the momentum much better than the controversial BTW...

I was joking about EC being a single. It's a great song but the religious theme would kill it just like it did Judas. Heavy Metal Lover is flawless, but you have to be truly delusional to think it'll ever do well on radio. If HML were ever released, it would make Judas look like a smash.

The only shots Gaga has at a moderately successful 7th single (all the odds are against her, it's her 7th single, little consistency between singles, public demand for her music) is a heavily radio edited version of Scheisse or Hair.

Everything else would be a mistake. This is the true tea.

That's my only real problem with the era, to be honest. The music is amazing, but they messed up its potential with the singles, either by releasing them in the wrong order, or by releasing them at all

That's also true. Don't tell I'm negative, but her new imagine didn't help them at all. Same for the videos. Add all the factors and see where we are now

I didn't say that. What I mean is that as long as Gaga released a decent enough song it would go to #1. The lead single from BTW was effectively a guaranteed #1 for Gaga, because there was so much hype.
