IDK what the big deal is. Other celebrities have done free concerts before. Beyonce did a free concert pulling between 16-20k in the UK for the I Am...Sasha Fierce concert. Shaki did 200K+ in Mexico as well. Gaga did a free concert in Taiwan for 40k people in July of this year while promoting BTW.

She's not the first and won't be the last big name pop star to do it.

It's been stated before that this space was limited compared to other places in Mexico. Shakira for instance performed at a larger space then Britney did.

I didn't confirm the exact number, but gave a rough estimate since the O2 can hold anywhere from 16k-22k on a sellout.

The area was not that large, Britney's concert was limited with space as well. She performed at a downtown war monument. It wasn't like Shakira who performed at the second largest city-square Mexico has.

You have it wrong. Shakira performed at Zocalo - the second largest city-square Mexico has. Britney performed at Republic Square. There two different areas.
