There may not have been a huge resurge of white rappers after Eminem came along but he broke the mold.
And he came along during an era where hip-hop was all about materialism and your usual "money, cash, hoes" brand of rap and he rapped about himself. He told his own story. There was no facade or gimmick, just pure lyricism.
