Alejandro remains timeless. I love Gaga but I've played her discography so much that sometimes I get sick of many of her singles/songs. Not with Alejandro though. It's flawless. The tune is gorgeous. The production is flawless. It's lyrics are pretty simple, but that Ale-Alejandro hook is just irresistible

Do you think Interscope would had let her release Born This Way (the whole package) if she hadn't been as successful in her past eras? Nicole has pointed it out MANY times. She needs to find balance. You can be sure her next album won't be as preachy, and definitely more commercial.

Now I understand you. When Born This Way came out and I listened to it, I lowered all of my expectations because I knew most of the songs were complete polar opposites of what the general public liked. Like a lot of people have said, the good thing about BTW and its misses is that it showed Gaga and Interscope what they can and can not do. I'm expecting the next album to be a hit no matter what now.

I think scheiße will be the most memorable single (if released) this era
The fame--->pokerface
The fame monster--->Bad Romance
Born this way--->Scheiße
All i know is that scheiße was ment to slay

Judas, Y&I, and TEOG will be forgotten, obv and had no impact, but I don't know about BTW. BTW is part of the reason she was just honored at The Trevor Project conference thing. But the thing about this era, it seems, is that she's focusing more on her overall image than the music itself. Maybe that's the problem.
I actually agree with you on a lot of things. I don't hide behind this wall and think everything is okay. I just try to stay positive most of the time 'cause I don't see the point in being negative or constantly reiterating how bad something is.
Like I said Alejandro is in my top two. Don't twist what I said sista.
But lemme ask you something: You don't think she controls her career? You think if Interscope controlled things, she would have been allowed to do everything she did this era?
And yeah, who's having a meltdown?

The Edge of Glory will be remembered. Not its video, of course.
Talking about her image, she's turning a lot of people off. IMO, she's becoming very repetitive (homosexuality, bullying, being who you are, the fact that she is a star and they tried to bring her down and so on). I am saying this not because her intentions are wrong (they are very honorable) but because she doesn't understand that repeting it every single time may be tiring for the general public. That said, I'd like her to find a working balance of elements: music, message, style and charity.

To me, the Born This Way era has turned into a constant tribute for the bullied, outcasts, etc with the ceaseless preachy speeches and stories about her tough times when she was younger. It's been a turn off, honestly. I'm all for the foundation and support she gives, though.

Is it any more repetitive than the "fascination of fame" we got during TF and TFM? The only difference is that she's actually doing something. I think her quick rise to fame changed her. She feels like she has to do something to change the world and I love her for that and can find no faults in that.
A balance would be perfect, but people would complain either way. :/ I really don't think she's ever going to stop this activism thing because it seems to be something she truly loves to do.

Isn't that what makes her different, though? Instead of being like, "I love the gays and outcasts," she's actually doing more? That def. hurts her image to the general public, but it aids in the legacy she will leave behind.

I don't know if it has the potential to slay as hard as Poker Face and Bad Romance. Those songs just got eaten up on itunes and radio and the like. Scheiße is probably the catchiest song on the album aside from The Edge of Glory. Virtually all of the non-Gaga fans that I've played the song for love it (and, yes, it's a small, biased sample size but I still believe in it) and while Gaga has been losing some of her digital power in terms of singles sales, I think Scheiße is the last surefire hit on the album. It'll suffer from being one of the last singles as opposed to an earlier one, but I expect it to at least go top 10. Despite the pseudo-German it's actually decently radio-friendly and could do pretty well.

Aren't other singers like Katy Perry or Britney Spears being branded as boring because of their generic, easy songs? The same is happening with Gaga. Enough is enough. You can only talk about it for so long without getting people bored. And even Katy being branded as boring, she keeps scoring hits.
