It's not like she is able to do whatever she wants. I'm sure she has restrictions/Interscope forces her to do promo and make public appearances. I think she just has control over the creative aspects of her music: set/stage design, outfits, music videos, music, etc. Also, I'm sure Interscope has the final say on approving certain things.
