It peaked at #3 because it was stuck behind "Party Rock Anthem" and "Rolling in the Deep" which were huge. And it had tons of longevity. What are you talking about?
It did not have the same longevity as a Katy, Rihanna or Adele song.
They've been targeting that very well this era which I would say is smart. Adult radio is very loyal to its artists - they saved Kelly Clarkson's single from being a forgotten flop.
i agree. the smartest move this era was to release YAI after success of TEOG to keep the momentum. i just think that if YAI was to be releases a little later after TEOG peaked on.adult radio, it would be better

It's always smart to target smaller formats because pop radio DJs have always been a fickle bunch.
MTN is probably less radio-friendly than TEOG, though.
I don't know why they let the final part of the song in the radio edit, they drag your ears until you have a headache, that's the least radiofriendly part of the song, besides that the song is radio-ready!
I wonder why AC slept on Y&I. TEOG went #6 there, then Y&I was a nice hit on HAC, but it's peaking at #15 on AC.
"TEOG" is still going very strong on AC. "Yoü and I" is stalling because it's that time of the year when AC switches out most of its pop hits in exchange for Christmas songs. I think "Y&I" will be a top ten hit there too... eventually.
