Cats, can someone enlight me with the definition of "Generic", what does it means? I have read that word so many times in KATRL and I have an idea of what could it be but I want to know exactly what it means.

It's okay.
Generic is a descriptive word, usually used to describe pieces of art (book, movie, music)

Basically it means that the movie, book, song, etc sounds very boring and just like everything else.

AKA Not very unique, lackluster, bubblegum pop.

Just basically boring music. Someone might describe Last Friday Night or California Gurls as generic for example.

Generic is like stale, overused, sounds like everything "in" right now, etc. Good Feeling, while a good song, comes to mind.

lol... I posted it on KPF in Randomness Thread to get a few opinions before I went "public" with it.

. so opinions (???)... remember, this is from 2003. Katy was dating Matt Theissen, lead singer of Relient K. It's a backstage area... when the voice says "exactly like she looks"... so Katy-ish vocally and vocabularly (lol).

Thank you very much hurricane! I was thinking about that 'cuz Sammi has been calling HH a generic and boring song, but I haven't heard any song with similar sound, it is a pop masterpiece, really, I love it...probably my favorite Katy track and the total opposite of a generic song.

Oh and btw, about the video you post, it sure sounds like Katy, are Relient K related to Katy or something?
