Yeah, Part of Me and ET are much better, but this is still really good. I love the dark, edgy sexy feel of it. And its pretty catchy. Its no TOTGA or TD though

I love Who Am I Living For? ! (it's weird to put a ? and a ! together ) It shows a completely different side of her. Kinda like CTD and ET, but even darker. I can relate to it to, because I also have conflictions with my religious beliefs, except it's 'cause I am gay. :/

I believe this song is about her personal struggle with her religion and her career. Not necessarily her belief in God, but basically, what's expected of her as a Christian, but what the media expects of her as an artist, and the kind of artist she actually wants to be. It's not so much that she doesn't want to be singing about kissing girls and big ***** and is forced to so as to stay relevant in the industry, she actually ENJOYS what she's doing, she likes the music she sings, and likes being a provactive and edgy artist. It's that she feels conflicted because of how she was raised and probably worries that this isn't what God would want for her.
She wants to please God, the church, her family, ect. but she also wants to be herself, and LIVE for herself. Which begs the title question...who is she living for?
This song, lyrically, is awesome, I knew Katy was an amazing songwritter but damm, this song blew me away!
Now that I understand the song a little more, I guess I kinda relate to it the same way Ramcoro does, dealing with my sexuality and being religious.

Very underrated. And nothing irks me more than seeing people discredit her by saying she doesn't write her own songs

I totally called that. You like it now? I also think that how sex uped she is, is part of the reason why she has confliction with her faith. She has to do that to survive in the industry. Sex sales. There isn't a single big artist out there that hasn't used sex to sell.
