All of my friends who aren't big on Britney love that song... all of my friends that went to the show said it was their favorite performance. Radio stations randomly picked it up while IWG was a single. Just because fans don't like it really doesn't mean ****. I'm sure if Britney released multiple singles, Beyonce style, "Big Fat Bass" would be ahead in radio play by a mile. It's perfect for radio.
Yes, but still, it's not getting much spin from pop or any other format. That's mostly all urban. If it was being pushed on pop, it'd be getting a lot bigger updates. "Party" is doing REALLY well.

People were tired of Britney releasing autotuned, party songs. TONS of commenters and reviewers have pointed out how refreshing it is to hear new sounds from Britney.
There would be NONE of this hype/controversy if Britney released TBFB. People would probably ridicule the dancing....and the song is on the verge of un-bearable until the kickdrum part comes in.

Like I said, neither of the pop stations in Nashville, Bowling Green, Louisville or Lexington are playing Criminal.

Oh okay. I just got back from Ex-Hell and I thought that's what you guys were saying.

And almost everyone i've played the album/criminal around likes the song and they aren't big britney fans either.

What people?
Where are you Britney fans getting this information from aside from other fans? If a song is good, people who review the songs are always going to point out their favorite things, but a song being "refreshing" because it's mid-tempo is hardly a compliment.
Really, the hype/controversy isn't doing as much as you think for "Criminal." I mean, people already stopped talking about the London gun thing... and are people still talking about the amount of sex in the video? I mean, honestly, she's done that before. She was naked in 50% of Womanizer.

Don't give up on "Criminalsus". It's just starting out and fans are already jumping ship
|
I know this. Is that changing the fact she says that for majority of the songs?
I'm not exactly "jumping ship". But it's radio performance is now questionable. It's gone for adds to Pop radio and still over 20 stations haven't added it, and the 135 that are aren't generating any audience. Like I said earlier, if it's doing the same shaky thing by next Friday, I'll be officially worried.

Well, surely your friends think like you and have sex to flute music because it's so risky...

At think at this point there were only, MAYBE, 8 stations that hadn't picked up IWG... and IWG has receiving pretty big updates in about a week from now... like +1.500 plus. I could be wrong, but it was only about a month in from when it started getting plays. Not the start date.

It's nowhere near the same though. There are sex and shower scenes between her and jason in criminal (i mean, he grabs her breasts for pete's sake)......that's a lot more controversial then just posing naked.

Well, it definitely weren't the 5 million who's bought the singles this era. Or the listeners to push her spins/audience impressions to higher reaches consecutively each single. So who?

Someone licked the side of her face in "Slave 4 U."
A bald guy put his head on her ***** in "3"
I mean, it's not like her **** where flying around for the world to see. It's pretty moderately censored and you can see a lot more on TV.

Boo, it's been that way since Femme Fatale was released. For the most part, Criminal was pointed out as "different" and The Big Fat Bass was pointed out as hit or miss among the critics and online community.
You do realize that TBFB was promoted on Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel, the Kids Choice Awards and his Science Show.....and STILL hasn't made waves on the iTunes charts....all of that on top of those early radio spins you were talking about....and still NOTHING.

And yes, Criminal is very controversial. She was naked in Womanizer -- but that was seduction. Britney has always been seduction, but the Criminal video is just flat out XXX.
Criminal slayed those other tracks in the Facebook poll by double digit margins.
Britney has NEVER complimented TBFB in an interview (only praising TTWE, HIR, Criminal).
Not to mention, Britney picked this **** as a single so you're going against her holy word.

"Criminal" was doing better than "IWG" pre-adds date...but "IWG" blew up after it's adds date, immediately. We're now 2-3 weeks since "Criminal" went for adds and it's still moving at snail pace.

Till The World Ends was the single though... and honestly none of her non-singles have really smashed iTunes except Up N Down.
I can understand that the video is controversial, but it's not generating news... Sorry.

You must have internet and TV filters because Criminal has already been talked about on Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, ALL of the major blogs, the Daily Mail, LA Times, the Hollywood Reporter.....and we haven't even gotten to Fox News yet.
