I disagree. Does she she really need to go to such extreme lengths with this contrived persona just to leave a lasting impression? People loved the Umbrella video, and that wasn't controversial. Her career and legacy shouldn't depend on things like that. Legends of the past didn't need it, so I don't understand where this notion comes from. Rihanna needs to show that she has the talent to back up this controversy; otherwise, all this shock value just looks desperate.

I think they referenced the Chris Brown incident in he care simply for controversy but don't think the video as a whole was about their relationship. As far as we know, they weren't abusing drugs and alcohol, their love was tainted by domestic abuse.
RIGHT, i mean its making them look so pathetic that they are STILL in here trying to convince people the video is bad
