You want us to "respect" and "accept" your opinion, but then you try to make the fact the majority of Britney fans dislike your all-time favourite BFB into something it isn't - We just think it is WEAK AS HELL, find a way to deal with it and move the **** on - Unless you decide to accept people will indeed keep saying you have a ****** taste.
Summarizing: we all have our favourites, don't try to discredit or distort what we say because you don't feel the same by saying stupidities such as "enjoy Britney for what she - according to you - is", especially she's proven so many times she's MUCH MORE than a, let's put is this way, dancefloor-only freak.

I don't want you to "respect" or "accept" my opinion. I'm not always going to agree with everyone,... but I would prefer if people understood it. People listen to different music and different artists for different reasons. Therefore, I will continue to discredit people telling me that I have ****** taste when it comes to Britney's music because they don't understand my connection with her. That's on top of the fact that my liking of Big Fat Bass and my reasoning behind why it should be released as a single lay behind separate logic....

She's proved that since her dance album, but her most popular songs worldwide, with the exception of FTBOMBH, have been dance songs. Look at US radio for her past 4 eras. She's only release one non-dance song. Everytime did well, and is a great song, but today, in 2011, Britney stands (for the first time, I believe) behind 5 top 10 singles in a row. I don't see why her label would think to change up the formula for her right now considering she's never been as strong in single performance because for a long time you couldn't buy her singles. I like Criminal and Inside Out as much as the next guy, but I just don't see how fans can logically say that they think these songs are standalone songs from the album when you have songs that are already getting great club play and promotion in various outlets.

I never promised you a happy ending
You never said you wouldn't make me cry!
(I just realized those lyrics could also describe sex, but that's another story )

You have some great points! Britney has probably estabilished herself as a dance-pop artist, and I highly doubt we are going to have an album like 4 for example ever, I think Britney is sticking with this, because it's what people know her for! I would be terrified to see Britney doing an album like Beyoncé's! I think y'all talking but yall would FREAK OUT you know why? The songs wouldnt be that catchy, radio wouldnt play them, she would dance EVEN less, I see the dead ratings going higher, and without promo it would flop. Y'all know this is true. So im respecting Martian's point of view on this kind of Britney. Britney has never been into writing songs but she is good when she does it just look at Whiplash or Scary or even some In The Zone track! She is good.
I also know some DJs that just don't touch Britney's songs I've been in a disco recently and they play Up N Down, TTWE, I Wanna Go, Slave 4 U, etc. without touching a thing, they do touch in HIAM but that's silly.
Anthony I do not think he is discrediting what we are saying, in fact Big Fat Bass is the kind of song he claims to love from Britney, I think y'all should respect opinions, me myelf LOVE Big Fat Bass always did, in fact lyrically it's too repetitive, but look at that instrumental !! it's so rich with elements Britney hadn't mix before! I seriously love it
Now! Enough with the omg BFB sucks or Big Fat flop ****, y'all know this would go top 15 AT LEAST.

He gets it... Kinda.
I still, and fans still, appreciate songs like "He About to Lose Me" and "Criminal" and I'm all for making albums to please the fans... but I seriously doubt that Femme Fatale was made with the idea of Britney doing something that she really feels in her soul for the fans. It's a radio album... the album is engineered just like Teenage Dream to be quite honest. Not saying the albums sound the same... it's just full of songs that are completely radio ready... but I feel consistency is key. Katy Perry's are all happy-go-lucky pop songs with a mild dance beat. Every single one of the singles. So far, Britney's released singles that are 100% club ready... and with Dr. Luke behind the wheel I just don't see him allowing Criminal or Inside Out to see radio in the US. Not during the summer, on the heels of Britney dominating the dance charts.

Usually this only happens after an untimely demise, as with our posthumous reclamation of Michael Jackson, but Britney Spears is the girl who lived and now her fans can support her 'til, well, the world ends.
They know how it is

She was seriously experimental with that album and still stands as her best album for me. I think Blackout is her most "complete" album meaning every track was good, but ITZ takes the cake as far as quality goes for me.

I agree with your post 100%. In The Zone is such a quality album. I'd love it if she were to release another album similar to that in the future. Touch of My Hand is my #1 favorite Britney song.

Well, hope they got all the best shots in those two dates for the DVD.

She escaped the 27 Club curse and that has made her unique amongst her pop peers because people have become invested in her as a person, as a survivor, not simply a purveyor of sonic pleasures
|
That is the definition of a legend

.Her mid-meltdown album, 'Blackout,' was the best of her career, a shockingly experimental and hard-hitting electro record that presaged the genre's Top 40 takeover

Not a single lie was told...

But a Britney Spears concert also transcends a Katy Perry show because while fans may like Perry's songs, they don't actually care about her, not really. She is but a pretty soap bubble

No, they're open to the whole forum. It's for anyone who wants to discuss the artist/era/album.

I say don't post a thread about it, it really isn't that nice..if you ready it closely...and the Madonna thing, isn't actually a compliment.
But of course, one of you will post it, and the thread will fall into a warning filled mess.

That's what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure if it was just me.
10 bucks says the second Jonny logs on, he posts it right away with a flame bait worthy title.
