You could have him as a guest panelist. The View does that from time to time.

I didn't know Quiqui didn't like gay people. I thought he was along the same lines of myself and StarAcademy. Anywho, that would bring great ratings.

I love this. But today I realized how hard it is to limit one topic to 10-15 minutes. The replies are sometimes slow to send & at least needs to be said in that little amount of time.

And we're going to start having interviews soon. Not sure about next show though, as we may use that to continue perfecting the discussion portion.

The Tea?

Very cute idea, MusicTalker! Unfortunately, your strong concept had some pretty weak execution in its pilot. What has made "The View" such a buzzworthy show is its ability to inspire controversy and soundbites through its discussions. On the other hand, "The Tea" had no real disagreements, no strong arguments, no bite. It committed the cardinal sin of television: being boring. I know you emphasized wanting to have an intelligent panel, but you need to give them topics that will allow them to be messy and interesting as well. If there are just platitudes and gentle agreements—instead of an actual, opinionated back-and-forth—it comes off as practiced and there is nothing compelling for the audience to grab onto. I'm looking forward to more of "The Tea," but it definitely needs some overhaul first.

The pilot wasn't picked up.

Right after the first episode, I sent out a PM to the panel & I think only one of them responded. It was asking what we could improve on.

I'll send another PM tomorrow. We needed a break after the first episode anyway. And we're gonna take our time with the next episode. The first was planned in just two days.

Flopped, that's what you get for trying to copy the legendary Dr. ATRL. Just kidding, of course. It's very difficult to pull something like this off.

It is. The first episode was garaunteed to be a mess almost. It was actually going very well until the end IMO. It fell apart at the end.

The problem was not letting people able to post (my fault - it was my suggestion) & it was too long. I think the number of topics will have to be smaller, & we'll have to find a way to get audience interaction. Also, some types of topics aren't going to work here.

I wouldn't call it a flop. This thread was still the second most viewed of the week when it premiered iirc. It has like 15K views.

Also, the show started late but that was my fault too because my Internet was being absolutely horrible on the day of the first episode & I couldn't get it back for a half hour. Literally five minutes before it was supposed to start.

They got cancelled in the middle of the first episode.
