I think it's sad when you need a lot of people doing the whole job for you, and that's the way you get longevity in the music market.
That's why I think Gaga is the most promising pop artist out there - she is the one in control of her own career, and if she manages to get longevity that way, I must applaud her.

For me it's kind of disappointing, in the pop music industry, when I like an artist's songs a lot, but then I see the artist itself has nothing to do with the song. I kind of lose my respect... :\

Ew, why is Katy tainting this perfect post? Katy can sell a billion singles and she still won't come close to having the cultural impact Gaga has had. If Gaga's label controlled everything she did, Gaga could score #1 after #1, but Gaga's not a singles artist, so that's not what she's concerned with. It doesn't matter how many #1 singles Katy has, the truth is she is a singles artists and people don't remember singles artists and/or people who did nothing but played it safe. Katy is a monster when it comes to singles success, but even with 5 #1 singles, there is literally no interest in her album and it's such an anomaly. People love her singles but not enough to buy her albums. I don't get it. She is the perfect popstar, aka, people only care about the songs she puts on the radio.

Are we gonna remember the pretty girl with big boobs or the girl who pissed everyone off and wore a meat dress? I think we know the answer.
