I don't think anyone has been saying **** will be a hit(maybe 2-3 lost souls), I know I have been saying it wont be or that its way too risky.

Why? She's not stopping anyone else from doing better than her.

Her new RS interview confirms that she really understand the world of pop music:
I applaud her savvy. Pop music is very limiting and only true visionaries can succeed outside of the genre's narrow confines.

Her music is too generic for my taste. Not here for artists having 10+ #1's and selling 150k first week and 1mil albums total.

I think everyone can safely admit that we aren't getting anymore number 1's this era.

I'm fine with that.

I really hope for GaGa's sake she brings back the essence of what made her famous in the first place back in her next album effort.

I also think Sheiße would flop. I like the song but it's too similar (and inferior) to Judas, and besides the catchy chorus, the rest of the song is literally her talking gibberish

Never got the Telephone thing, to be honest. I was surprised it peaked as high as it did.

Um...they both turned out to be big hits. Just because they didn't hit #1 doesn't mean they weren't successful.

It's troubling when you type in "The" on youtube search and "The Lazy Song" appears before "The Edge of Glory"

She's certainly not stupid and understands what she needs to do to rise to the top of the Pop game. At the same time, I'm not going to say that Gaga is stupid for wanting to make pop music something more. She obviously understands the game as Katy does, which is why she began her career with electronic dance pop that came off as very juvenile. I'm not going to turn my back on her because she wants to use the fame she snatched with that to try to turn pop into something a tad more interesting, especially since I enjoy the new music she's putting out.

Katy will continue to **** in the U.S. as long as she has this mentality and air of accessibility about her. Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Stargate don't hurt, either.
