I am listening to Britney Spears Everytime right now and I have no idea why seeing as to out of all her songs it's the only one that sounds a dated. I lived for this in 2004 but now it's like so meh. Overrated? Everytime went #1 WW, was also critically praised, written from scratch by Britney, and one of the songs she continues to sing to live. That's not overrated that's giving the song it's due. Her vocals are far from a "mess" in the song. They're ghostly and haunting she wasn't trying to be a powerhouse vocalist on the song, which is why she said it's the type of song you would hear when going to heaven.
