She brought DJWS and his 'assistants' to BTW and she'll probably have someone else new on her 4th I hope. And a nice 'guest production' with You and I.
Well, this is it. To be honest I like the producers she has worked with on this album. Her sound is so much more mature than it was for TF and I'm glad she's moving away from this RedOne-depenndence. I think TEOG could be a huge hit.
TEOG is more accessible to the mainstream than Judas in sound and content so it's no surprise that it's performing better. Songs with religious references are always polarizing. I agree that Judas a great song.
Judas flopped because it was sandwiched. It wouldn't have been her biggest hit of course, but it had gone back to the Top 10 with the video release and was rising. And then they released TEOG -.-
Anyway, it's still her best song and video.
To me Judas is not a great song. She screams too much. You barely understand anything she's saying. The chorus is weak. The "oh oh oh" and "Juda/Gaga" parts are shamelessly reminiscent of BR.
And, on top of the religious content, it's not relatable. Everyone can relate to having a Bad Romance. It's simple.
Edit: well, it is relatable but you have to think about it and understand it. Pop music is youth-driven and it's about making an instant connection.
Judas flop was due because of so many reason, but we heard every ecuse in the book I dont need to list them. My main thing was the killer BTW and TEOG
You have songs like BTW till charting high and then comes Judas which is completely different than BTW. Both charting high and sharing AI. Then comes TEOG... and that just added more to the destruction. Both of the songs are better than Judas. Giving Judas the ideal set up it would have done decently, not a smash record however(imo)
Wait, what happened to Judas? It left the Hot 100?
I just checked the Hot 100 and yes, it did. Possibly because of negative sales, due to people using the "complete my album" feature on iTunes. Also because of its lack of airplay.
