Well, I think the fact that the album came out had more of an impact on sales. Let's just think about this step by step. When she was on all of those promo spots, she was promoting more than one song. The multiple songs convince people to buy the album more than the individual song. Now, let's say that all this promo was done the week TEOG was released. Then it would have had more of an impact on its sales because it would have been the only one promoted.
I for one am pleased at the results. I mean, she's in the top 3 when she was in the lower reaches of the top 10 before, and she's not leaving any time soon.

I still think Marry the Night, Scheisse and Bloody Marry are the **** on this album!
Frankly those could have a similar impact as Bad Romance! When I first heard Bloody Marry I was like I never heard something like that but DMAN it sounds soooo good!!!

The more I listen to MTN the more I like it, but I still don't get the appeal. I mean, it had the best instrumental but the song fell apart in its execution. That and Hair are the only songs I can say I don't LOVE on this album.
But Bloody Mary and Schiesse MUST be released.

The thing that concerns me now is that it is free-falling so quickly these past days. Its concerning to know that the effects of such big promotion wares down so quickly.
This brings in another concern - Does gaga need the promotion to sell the single? it looks like that, since after the effects of AI or GMT come of, its RAPIDLY decreasing. That would also mean she cant sell without the promo. If she never performed, TEOG would not have increased like it had. That also leads to the fact that, since she is not performing anymore in the USA for the time being, she wont get the effect of the performance,
And TEOG will not sell like it did. It would free fall without the promo.

Exactly! Thats why i am so concerned. I mean she gets 3 amazing promo shows, and she still remains No.2. I mean, Adele only has the appeal of radio, she hasn't performed this week, but she is quickly increasing.

Well, you have to remember that the other gerls (minus Adele, of whom we will not compare) need promotional spots too. I mean, it would be irrational to say that GaGa doesn't need support promotionally to sell a single. However, I think that when the video is released we will get the sustained growth that she needs.
I think that you are underestimating the fact that the album came out this week, too. Think about all the thousands of people buying the album as opposed to the single. It is to be expected. As Darren said, if it was any other week I would have been worried. But I think that in the end we will be okay with the increasing radio support.
Has this been sent to HAC radios?

That instrumental introduction is the best instrumental she's ever done.

More than anything, you all are forgetting that TEOG still has pretty low AI. Promo very rarely makes an enormous impact for songs that aren't established on radio. I think the promo helped her album sales, more than anything. TEOG future success will depend on the video and radio updates.
I will say, though, that the AI performance was a missed opportunity, imo. The performance was simply okay, not great.

A hit tune should be its own promotion. The 30 seconds you can hear out of ITunes for free should hook you up and make you buy straight away. I don't know if that can happen with TEOG...
You don't need to promote a tune like hell to sell it. As much as I love GaGa and TEOG. I think it was not the best choice after what happened with Judas, which clearly showed that although GaGa is a massive star, she needs to select her singles carefully. And I think TEOG was a rush release, and was not carefully thought.
Now that being said, an amazing video could turn the tide...

I think it has been sent to all radio formats. Its getting support from alot anyways. I understand the fact the the album release could shadow it, but would it not give MORE exposure to gaga? Would the Million people that purchase the album also find out about the single? If anything, i think album sales are in a way promotion for a single, exposure for a single. It works both ways. When you buy a single, you get hyped up for the album. When you buy the album, you would want to keep up with her, you would be given the exposure of knowing that TEOG is the current single, and you might purchase it. I dont think by buying the album it is causing a decrease in single sales. Also, in AI, which i believe, and many people may disagree, is the biggest promo, she only performed TEOG.
Anyways, I would like to know When the Physical Copy of the single will be released?

The only thing i hate about marry the night is the production and the long ending that seems to drag on the song for more than needed.
