There was a time when she was ...maybe.
I remember during the DC years, people used to criticize her the whole time.
My cousins even knew that it was the way to make me sad.
They just called their friends and starting to say nasty things about her.
Since she went solo, I think people starts to appreciate her for her talent and her ability to be above the others. The respect she conquers brought her less hate.
But meanwhile her career hurted a lot of black (mostly) singers and all the fans of these artists until this day still can't stand her and wait for her downfall. Even those stans whose faves movie careers she didn't hurt. As long as they are flops.
I remember one day I click on a link about Kelis's divorce that lead me to one of her website. The 1st comments were shocked about the news. And then one of the poster randomly mention Beyoncé, and that's all they could talk for 4 pages. On approximately 65 comments about their fave facing a divorce, more than 50 comments were dedicated to Beyoncé.
And I won't even talk about ALD!
I think it has more to do with bitterness and jealousy like someone point it out ealier than her.
