Ladies & Gents , Katys still in the running for Hot 100 #1 :
iTunes -
1.Judas
2.ET
3.S&M
I never gave up on ET staying at #1 next week.
Btw I think HH is real cortender for the 5th single. Luke & Max had already 3, Stargate had 1 and now it's Tricky's turn. I wouldnt be suprised if Katy didnt want a Dr Luke produced single again after those rumors.... HH is a smash btw I love it.

If Judas won't be #1 next week (which I already doubt is possible) I want E.T. to maintain her #1.
The S&M Remix is horrid imo.
I didn't post here in a while. Just too much going on right now
& Hummingbird Heartbeat would be nice. I agree, it's best that she doesn't release anymore Luke tracks, especially if the songs from the rerelease might be done by him too.
As many pll criticized that Teenage Dream was confectionary pop & was made to fit in the current music scene. But ppl tend to forget that Katy relased this album to pay tribute to her biggest inspirations, and experimenting mixing her sound with their sound. So there are the songs.
California Gurls:"
It was clearly inspired by 90's dance music, more precisely Robin S.'s club hit "Show Me Love" from 1993. Katy refered to song in her Rolling Stone interview singing a part of its chorus. The beats show some kind of similarities, so do the verses. She also sang vocal runs from the song in many of her California Gurls live performances.

"Firework:"
It borrows some melody from "Always", taken from the Erasures' 1994 album "I Say I Say I Say". Katy also said the album is very Cyndy Lauper-ish: Cindys 1986 hit have simliar lyrics to Firework: "But I see your true colors shining through" is a remiscinent of "Come on let your color burst".

"Peacock":
As many critics pointed out, Stargate get the beat for "Peacock" from one of the most influental song of our time, Toni Basil's "Mickey".

"Circle the Drain":
Katy told in many before the relase of "Teenage Dream", that this song is her "You Oughta Know" Alanis Morisette moment. The rocky sound and the sexual references "Are you thinking of me when you **** her - You fall asleep during foreplay" are both song's main attributes.
"The One That Got Away"
Before the album release Katy said “I’m kind of thinking I want to do my record like a mesh between "Lovefool" by the Cardigans and "The Sign" by Ace of Base". "The One That Got Away" perfectly represents this mesh. The nursery-rhyme-esque verses are like in "Lovefool" (even the xylophones are there) and the chorus is strongly smiliar to the "The Sign".

E.T.
Like it or not, the melody of the t.A.T.U.'s 2002 hit "All The Thing She Said" shows some similarities, expecially in the bridge

I can't with you fans. Katy and you guys with her can keep dreaming about "Hummingbird Heartbeat" being a single. She can experiment with singles in few years but now she has huge chance of tying or breaking Michael Jackson record. Maybe this is her only chance so let's play it safe. LFN next single.
