Avril Lavigne - Goodbye Lullaby | Ratings and Reviews

Black Star: 9/10 When i heard this song, i immediately felt peaceful, calm. This elegant song was a great introduction to this album. The strong vocals and the great piano lines were absolutely perfect.
What The Hell: 8/10 As the lead single, i expected more. It was catchy, but it got boring quite quickly. It was not the best representation of the album, but to say it 'flopped' would be an exaggeration. Loved it, but now its one of the least favorites. Would have fit right in to TBDT.
Push: 10/10 One of my favorites. The vocals were amazing, the chorus was surprisingly great. This has the potential of being a single, and Avril Herself loves this as well. Would have been a better lead single, it sounds less 'pop' that WTH.
Wish You Were Here: 10/10 In my opinion this song is rather mid tempo. I like it, and the chorus sticks in your head, and i definitely see single material in it. It's like a hit waiting to be set of!A flashback to her previous work, and i would love to hear this on the radio someday.
Smile: 10/10 Out of the 3 tracks that have been talked most about, (Push, WYWH and Smile) this is my least favorite. Although the chorus is catchy, and the music is great, it does not match up to the previous 2 tracks. However, this is rumored to be the next single, so i guess i will have to deal.
Stop Standing There: 9/10 Honestly, i don't understand the hate for this. Its marks the start of the ballads, after 4 consecutive strong songs, and i like it. Avril's description of the song just made it more exciting. Greatly executed, and the vocals are impressive. Not the best ballad, buts its up there.
I Love You 10/10 This made me teary eyed. Lovely song, the lyrics full of meaning, and the song conveys a great message. Well done, Avril. This ballad is definitely one of my favorites, although RCA will probably not take a risk, so i don't expect this song to be released as a single. This definitely is a hidden gem in the album
Everybody Hurts: 10/10 My second favorite song on the album, the notes are perfect the lyrics once again have meaning and conveys a vital message, i see single potential in this, but once again, i don't think RCA will take a risk, since this is a ballad, and it would be rather dangerous to release this. But this is an amazing song.
Not Enough: 8/10 Maybe its because the previous two songs were excellent and outstanding that made this song rather average to my ears. It does not match up to the other songs on the album, its the closest to filler on this album, i believe, although its still great. The chorus just does not get me, however.
4 Real: 10+/10 My favorite song EVER. This is absolutely amazing. A ballad with a great pop-like twist to it. It makes me cry. I love it, and definitely see single material. Its just me opinion, however. My favorite line: "Something the past could never change.. but i'm stuck in the moment, and my heart is open.. tell me you feel the same" The lyrics have meaning, the song is lovely. Instant classic.
Darlin: 8/10 Like Not Enough, it may have been influenced by the amazing previous track. It's growing on me though, and i think the lyrics also have a great message. Not as good as the other tracks, but im sure the chorus is currently in my head. A great ballad, but its not single material.
Remember When: 10/10 Another amazing song. It made me cry (i cried in many songs) and this was great. This ballad is probably one of Avril's classics. Single potential, but RCA wont make such a choice. Once again, Avril delivers with her stunning voice and great lyrics. Great Job well done.
Goodbye: 8/10 not really feeling it. It got repetitive quickly and its one of those songs i might skip on listens. Its not filler though, as it seems like it was meant to close the album. Not bad.
