Nothing upsets music charts more than new albums, and this week there were plenty of them.
After spending weeks at the top of the albums chart, Michael Buble was sent tumbling into fifth place after a new record by fellow Canadian Avril Lavigne debuted at number one.
It's been nearly four years since her last album and Lavigne's new record Goodbye Lullaby is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of 2011.
Rihanna managed to clamber into the second spot this week with her massive album Loud, but Aussie folk rockers The Waifs took out third with their new record Temptation debuting at number three.
It's the third album from The Waifs to reach the top three in their long history, with previous records Sun Dirt Water and Up All Night striking a similar chord with listeners.
Another debut scooped up fourth place, with American rapper Lupe Fiasco's new record Lasers following up on the success of his previous albums Food and Liquor and The Cool.
Elsewhere on the albums chart, a best-of album from Alan Jackson skyrocketed 25 places in a week to settle on seventh, while Aussie electronic duo Art vs. Science's new album The Experiment slipped from its number two debut last week to ninth.
Fellow homegrown muso McAlister Kemp meanwhile entered the chart on eight with his new record All Kinds of Tough.
While Rihanna held onto number one on the singles chart and Jennifer Lopez spent another week on two, a fresh single from Jessie J exploded from 22nd into third, proving she is one to watch in coming weeks.
