Please, I've been to Avril bandaids quite a bit stay updated on promotion for WTH and the Britney hate over there is ridiculously. I may only came across one positive thing said of Britney while there. To say "most" Avril stans like HIAM is politically incorrect.
You don't have to go that far - Just check the iTunes thread right here at ATRL.
No matter what kind of setbacks Britney Spears faces, the singer always seems to return stronger than before.
On the heels of 2008′s Circus, which spawned the mammoth #1 hit “Womanizer” and a sell-out world tour, Spears returns with “Hold It Against Me.” Produced by Dr. Luke, the mastermind behind recent Katy Perry and Ke$ha hits, and Max Martin, who notably crafted Spears’ massive debut “…Baby One More Time”ť, the song should surely return Spears to the top of the charts.
Built around a hard-hitting bassline and a schoolgirl-sweet chorus, “Hold It Against Me” hits like a rush of ecstasy. Two minutes in, the song breaks down into a twistedly delightful series of grimy, dubstep beats before returning in time for a hands-in-the-air rave chorus. Harking back to the seedy electropop of 2007′s Blackout, “Hold It Against Me”ť proves who owns the throne.
If Britney Spears keeps knocking out hit after hit like she has been doing for the past decade, she won’t have to worry about making a “comeback” for much longer. “Hold It Against Me” has already made its way to the top of the charts on iTunes after less than a day of sale. Spears has essentially made a career with no vocal ability, but that has ceased to be important. She has transcended the realm of popstar and become a bonafide icon.
