Did everyone see how ReRe was bopping to her music like she was going to win... she was like "I got this AGAIN." (where I got my avy from) lol I wonder how she looked when she heard it was a tie between Patti and Lisa.
Poor ReRe.
Oh honey thats nothing, she was ****ing pissed when her supposed to be friend Natalie Cole won the award over her... its in her book I read. And here she mentions it. http://books.google.com/books?id=9s0...page&q&f=false

That is so hilarious because Natalie was the one to break Aretha's winning streak.
I wanted Sade to win here, but I like Nelly and Sade won in Pop Vocal Album. They were even.
I actually have Nelly in fifth here. But this was a WONDROUS category. It's a wealth of choices, from Janet's perfect pop voice on a perfect pop song, to Lucinda's surprising appearance with down-home grit. I ultimately go with Sade, because - how could you not? But special honors have to go to Faith Hill, for singlehandedly almost saving the worst song Diane Warren has ever written (and if you know Diane's back catalog, that says a lot. A LOT.)
1. Sade
2. Janet
3. Faith
4. Lucinda
5. Nelly (Turn Off the Light or **** on the Radio would have pushed her higher.)
Satellites and Ace Reject, who you guys would have picked when Toni Braxton won her first two Grammys in R&B Female? I cannot believe Whitney lost twice to Toni. She should have at least won once.
Dianas ass is probably the person who has presented more than any other star. Its so funny she never won one, my grandma told me she remembers hearing something about Diana being blacklisted after her manager DEMANDED she win something.

I think the real crime is Toni beating Jill Scott in 99-00. That was Jill's only real shot for Female R&B, and to see her go home empty-handed ... it wasn't a good thing.
Oh honey she was pissed about it too. I wish I could find the whole article, Natalie says Aretha threw a bitch fit.
I think several of Aretha's peers said she has always been that way. Tina Turner, Natalie Cole and I think even Chaka mentioned that. They said they never took it personally because that was her nature. Did she actually think she was going to always win the award?

Jill Scott or Aaliyah should have won over that random Mary track in 2002.
"He Love Me" (Movements I, II & II) was incredible, and "More Than A Woman" was pure hotness. Ashanti was just there because she had the hit. Eartha? What?

btw Whitney (bias but )
The real crime is U2 beating Prince, although arguably The Joshua Tree had more influence. (Although SoTT really does **** on most things from unreachable heights.)

First off I have a soft spot for Toni who is in my Top 5 of all time. That said in 1994 & 1995 she had no competition at all. Now 1997 I might have to go with Whitney as the winner just for everything after 2:53. SHE *******!
