I hate to be the fly in the ointment though, but why are they trying so hard to make Katy Perry happen when she's just not quite happening? Her singles and album are performing well both in the U.S. and abroad but relative to other artists with a fraction of the promo, she's not doing too well. All of this promo must be really expensive but I guess maybe she's turning a good enough profit for Capitol/EMI to justify it. I love this girl like crazy, but I just can't understand how so many other artists with just as much potential as her weren't given the same platforms to launch their careers on.

I think they're trying to make her as a household name, that will increase TD's Sales and at the same time makes more easy the next era (They're seeing so much potential in her )

I just listened the record and it's very good!!

I sincerely hope she becomes a household name. I think she's on her way, but leagues behind Lady GaGa. I really do see a lot of potential in her but I'm still curious what the labels motives are, especially since so many artists before her have been dropped despite selling just as well as she has.

Soccer moms know who Lady GaGa is, octogenarians know who Lady GaGa is, out-of-touch college professors know who Lady GaGa is. Her sound, image, and accomplishments have transcended the realm of pop music. Katy Perry is generally only familiar to people under the age of 30 and the parents of the children/teens that like her music. She just hasn't had the impact Lady GaGa has and there's a distinction between being a celebrity and being a household name.

i cant believe that the follow-up single to the epic inspirational "Firework" might be the dirt filthy "Peacock".........if they release peacock, then the era will be ruined............
