Rated R was a good album, but they typically only nominate one album per genre in AOTY and I think Gaga will represent the pop field. The Fame Monster sold more and she makes more adult contemporary-style music than Rihanna so that will appeal to the Grammy voters.

Thats kinda stretching. I would be head over heels if it was even nominated to be honest. Just to have the feeling that the album had a 20% chance of being crowned the best of the year. I wish her all the best for the grammys. I want a best Pop album nod for rated R. She doesnt even need to win .. just to see her nominated will just be the icing on the cake for me.

We all know Gaga is going to get the nomination, but I think it's ridiculous that it will be for an EP extension of an album that got nominated for AOTY just last year. "Rated R" was an incredible album, and its artistry (as a set of 13 songs that flows through a diversity of sounds and moods while still telling a coherent emotional story) really should be recognized.

Also, Gaga does not make "adult contemporary" music in any sense of the genre. In fact, "Rated R" was way more AC-oriented than anything Gaga has ever done. But they are both dancefloor divas all the way.
