And after her Marilyn phaze, she continued to experiment with new images in the 90s which were not explored by other females. Let's not even talk about her decisive impact in the art of music video and in the music industry in general, which allows the existence of your fave today.

I think it's because of the type of people who frequent this board. They don't understand this. They fail to grasp this simple concept b/c they're so limited in terms of their exposure to non-ATRL-friendly entertainment. They don't get that people "copy" from the past all the time. Not just music artists. Writers, filmmakers, etc. etc. It's impossible not to, and it's always been done.
