This has always annoyed me bout the US. They can show men practically naked minus their dicks but omg if a nipple is shown people make ****in big deal about it. I agree, "weird" does not always mean great. This whole era has just been bizarre in execution, and not necessarily in a good way. But that's testament to his status. Imagine if anyone else posted this, or tried that moving portrait thing he did with the Power video. NOBODY would be co-signing that person. I don't know how Kanye gets away with it.

I dont get this really. I mean if you look at his interviews and his tweets and blog entries - he's the exact same person (if anything he's a lot nicer now). It's just this movement he's been inspired by a lot of art and he's trying to bring that to the mainstream. He always has a new movement - art is the new one.

The Power video was ****ing brilliant and this cover - I'm not really a fan but eh. The music is still great and I love Kanye so let's.do.this.

Weird and genius are subjective.

This is worth tens of millions of dollars, he literally just threw paint on the canvas without looking and rolled around in it. It's considered total genius:



I'm not saying this cover is genius, but just because it doesn't fall within the comfort zone of what's expected in popular music, some (especially on a forum like this) will automatically dismiss it as try-hard and random and weird and dumb. If mainstream artists don't try something new and outside the box once in a while, we'll just have the same **** over and over again. Even if it fails, taking a risk is better than taking the easier route.

This is Kanye we're talking about. Pretension has taken him far in every era. This is clearly a gimmick.
