Sad news for Girls Aloud fans - it appears lead singer Nadine Coyle has ended that chapter in her life.

I hear the star is now referring to her time in the band as "the past" and has vowed never to perform as part of the chart-topping fivesome again.

My source reveals it's a Whole Lotta History for Nads, 25: "Nadine's moved on. She loved her time but feels lately things changed dramatically.

"She doesn't intend to *perform with them again and is openly telling pals she's no longer part of the band. She talks about being with them in the past tense. It's like a new chapter in her life is beginning - the future is her solo career."

My sources say relations between Nadine and the girls have been far from happy in recent months. "They are not in touch at all," says my mole.

"Nadine swears she's tried to get in touch with them all but not heard anything back. They've grown apart. With the amount of animosity they have against her now it would be almost impossible for them to regroup. She has to make her solo career her *priority."

This week Nadine told me how excited she is about her work.

She said: "I have these *visions when I think about being a popstar of watching a Diva's Live concert in Vegas and seeing women in amazing long gowns singing their hearts out. The light show's amazing, the band are tight and the backing singers are going crazy.

"That's what my dream of being a singer was. It still is!"

As much as i love cheryl as a solo artist GA are my fave female group eva! I just hope they make up and solve their problems cuz if is not all of them in the group, i'd rather them to split up.

naw they just took a "year" off so they could persue their solo ambitions, but now it seems like they gon break up soon. I'd kill to go to their concerts.

Yes GA are overrated but "Call The Shots" is a ****ing masterpiece and if them not getting back together means we're gonna miss out on another CTS then this is an awful shame

"Sound of the Underground" and "Call the Shots" are ****ing pop gems.

I would HATE to see the girls break up, just cuz I love the brilliance of a Girls Aloud Song [they dont really follow the normal radio format] however, if Nadine doesnt want to come back, then there isnt really a point to bring back the band...she IS a main focus of the band, voice wise she is ususally all over their songs...it wouldnt be the same IF ANY of them left...

I dislike Girls Aloud with a passion, but I admit I like Call The Shots. I also liked Untouchable (or the song with that on the title).

However, Cheryl Cole and Nadine Coyle are amazing as solo artists.

Yes, it is "Untouchable". "Call the Shots" and "The Loving Kind" are my favorites.

GA are overrated? hmmm naw i thin they so underrated. All of their singles are the definition of pop perfection. I used to hate em and thought their music was ****** but now im obsessed with them i dont want em to break up. IMO call the shots is one of the best pop songs ever made

I can't believe this. Girls Aloud are the greatest pop group of all time. I was so happy when they signed an album deal two years ago, I really hope that they resolve this. I can't wait until Nadine comes back to the UK so that they will finally let us fans know what is going on. I need more material.

They are so underrated! I totally agree about call the shots, so many of their songs are pop masterpieces. I'm excited for Nadine and Cheryl's sole albums but I'd much prefer another Girls Aloud album. TBH, if Nadine is leaving then they should all decide to quit. It would be so bad to go on without her, she WAS Girls Aloud in their early years.

Oh, now Nadine's quitting the group? Usually this rumor hits on Tuesdays, not Sundays. Cheryl leaving is Thursdays, Sarah usually leaves on Mondays, and Nicola's bouncing out on Wednesday.

GA are and will forever be amazing, and I really would like Cheryl and Nadine to stop trying to be solo and give me a new ****ing album yesterday already.

I'll be very upset if they break up.

However, I do have this fantasy where Nadine teams up with one of the ex Sugababes and the first girl to leave The Saturdays. Naturally they would call themselves Saturbabes Aloud.
