WTF? I can't believe Mariah Carey is in the lower regions of this chart. She should have been in the top 50, at least! I guess its more of a taste issue, considering most of the people who were asked to vote wouldn't have Mariah anywhere near their lists.

That's exactly what I was saying earlier (http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.php?p=4282475#4282475). Hopefully, the next time they do this list, it will continue to evolve in a more positive.

I agree. Of course my lack of familiarity with classic rock biases me against it, but there's just too much on the list.

At the very least, this list is a huge improvement over the last one, which was overwhelmingly white and rock-oriented. Perhaps the next list in, maybe 2022 or whatever will be even better.

It all depends on the participants, but, in general, Mimi does not fare as well as others on these things, as she's not viewed as one of the *great* artists, compared to the biggies that usually are (same goes for her music, on albums/songs lists). Her placing at all was a surprise (given that she didn't even factor on VH1's 100 Greatest Women in summer 1999). Based on chart success and popularity, yes, she would rank well, but otherwise, not so much. Never mind artists, albums/songs lists,but her biggest strength- singing- hasn't even placed her well on Greatest Singer lists by Rolling Stone, Mojo, Q,etc. Only on that MTV/Blender list did she fare well (at the top, actually).

If VH1 did an updated Greatest Women list, she'd probably appear this time (she placed well on VH1's 50 Women of the Video Era left out a lot of females, obviously, as it focused on early 80s-present).

Can't believe this was voted by "200 panel musicians" based on their top 5 and they come up with this mess. Some people don't even deserve to be higher than others (even Justin ) and the commentary is crap. It was either how an artist did one thing, one particular song that made an impact, or how sexy they were. :-/

I think they should have done it by genre like an R&B greatest artists, Pop greatest artists, etc. etc. or even by decade because to do an overall at this point is just a mess.
