But I don't think anyone should be expecting big numbers no matter what date it is. If it's given another month or two for it to be released the album will leak before you know it and so many negative things could happen to the project if it's pushed back to Oct.

I think "Ride" and the leaks/mixtape buzz have brung a lot more interest than the last era. They could get the 2nd single started and start promo these next few weeks and next month, the album will drop and whatever numbers it gets they should just continue to build on its longevity.

Yeah, I agree with MP2009. The leaks will become a problem for sure. That's what happened last era.

Her label seems more focused on big first week numbers rather than longetivity on the charts. First week numbers aren't everything: if your album freefalls after then what is the point?

Leaks are the least of worries right now. I agree with MusicTalker & Geezy.

They should of thought about that before the set a date.

& Tierra, leaks are still a worry. If it's being mastered this week, & it gets pushed back a month, the album could leak in a week or two.

I agree that Longevity is more important but I understand why they are pushing for the best possible start for the album. . That is almost JUST as important as longevity because first week sales for most Mainstream acts nowadays usually can tell you a lot [Xtina "Bionic"] and if you get off on a really bad start with low debut numbers it can be EXTREMELY hard to salvage at that point.

Everything has to be carefully planned. . . .Just putting it out there expecting a low debut right off the bat and hoping for the best is the WORST way to go about things.

It's not just putting it out there to be honest. And this same method worked for "Goodies" (her biggest album to date).

The method with Goodies worked with the lead single being a HUGE #1 single. Which proves my exact point and why I would fully understand JIVE's position in waiting and getting it perfectly right.

No..it worked cause they followed up the right way. Which is what they failed to do with any of her other albums.
Ciara can sell 126k without a #1 single these days, she's not new.

It worked because of Goodies slaying as the lead AND that they followed up the right way with the later singles carrying on the momentum. BOTH are important. . .

And I definitely agree that Ciara can do that without a #1 single with the right PUSH and PROMOTION, Neither of which have been given proper attention this era at this point which is why I Understand and would support the pushback.

Sooo....judging by her last tweet, the pre-tour is still on, which I'm guessing is the reason it got pushed back.

Ciara already said a while back the tour will most likely be after the album. That is her k104 Dallas show and she's also doing Power 105's show next month.

Ohhhh...I figured that since she said there would be a small pre-album tour & then a big one after..

Ciara will be featured in Usher's next urban single "Hot Toddy".

the point is pushing it back is pointless they won't have a single as successful as goodies neway so pushing back is pointless
