That's because the monarchy overshadows parliament even though monarchs have no power in the UK. Removing the monarchy would give greater importance to parliament internationally in the same way an Obama or Clinton visit is a huge event.
Being born wealthy because your parents or grandparents earned their wealth is different than simply being born wealthy by tradition. This is my opinion obviously, but you have more claim to your inherited wealth if your family earned that wealth. There is more of a parasitic nature to inheriting royal wealth, power, and privilege.
