Unless you are comfortable with their conservative, heteronormative views, then don't apply for LPDP. We have many other options. Sekarang makin banyak yg apply LPDP while quota is still the same/getting smaller so it will be very competitive anyway.

How heteronormative are they 'cause I've been wanting to get a LPDP scholarship, it's like my only way to get out of this country lol. Gays being oppressed, what is new. The homophobia in Indonesia is still strong.

@Zhuge Liang, well if you can suck it up, then go for it. Not only the interview, but the training (pelatihan kenegaraan or something like that), the environment, most of your friends will also be very conservative. Oh, and you need to go back to Indo after your study and if you want to work abroad you need to notify the LPDP committee.

I have many friends who got accepted so I know a lot about it. I applied once and was rejected (I'm sure my red hair was one of the reasons why haha). Thankfully I've got another scholarship to study abroad though, so in the end all is well.

Point is, if you are ok with all that then go ahead. It's a good scholarship in overall. But if you cannot cope with that, you still got plenty other options out there. You just need to research more.
