Carbon's Critiques
Allure -
Pixel Dark - Oh wow, what is this throbbing erection? This was genuinely fantastic and completely absurd, and yet I want to see more. Did Aciid and DripDrip find true love? Will they adopt a puppy together? Will Aciid cheat on DripDrip? I need a spin off. You completely delivered on what the challenge required and made me laugh throughout. At first, I thought it was just gonna descend into "tehe sex jokes lol xD" but there were select lines, like "was the first time in a long time, about a week" that really showed you knew what you were doing. Amazing!
Eve Saint Laurence - If my favourite thing isn't fantasising about Aciid x DripDrip, it's dragging Chanal. If you haven't tried it, I heartily recommend doing so. Overall, this gave me major Detox @ Roast challenge. It came across really "loud" (?) with all the **** and ****ING etc., which I get was part of the character, but it didn't really do much for me. I found your small snipes about other contestants generally funnier, and your the relentless self awareness was pretty refreshing. I think your comedy, at least when it came to yourself and Chanel, felt a bit obvious, but factual. So that's that on that.
MoonChild - The worst part of your entry is assuming Chanel would win All Stars. Not on my watch! Still, my second favorite pasttime is dragging Chanel, and considering this entry was 100% factual and funny, I live. Your entry feels much more refined that Eve's when considering the similarities, but yours told Chanel to kill herself in a much more cleaner fashion, so I think you edged her out here. I don't usually comment on runways since I do that in FPR, but this runway entry is super interesting and a really good followup to last weeks runway!
Tangerine - You better get into the Bible! You also called me skinny, so I guess this means I HAVE to like your entry doesn't it? This entry was super fun, and I love that everyone got a quick punch from you, with each being equally witty. There wasn't really any duds in your entry that I can think of. It didn't get any huge laughs from me, but rather just a continuous chuckle. In this setting I would favour consistency over few highs and lots of lows. "You’re transparent, tasteless and a constant presence that nobody pays attention to." - the tea! I think you handled this challenge pretty well, so good job.
Kunty Clarkon - Your downfall is REAL. What is this? This is super disappointing, and dare I say lazy? I mean, the effort to tweet those tweets, but... it just doesn't feel particularly creative, inspiring, and most importantly, funny. I wish you hadn't used twitter for your entry, since it really harms how much you can deliver in a joke, and also because you didn't really utilise twitter in a creative way. This is just a series of tweets. Where are the emojis, or gifs, or anything somewhat related to twitter? Overall, you didn't meet the challenge at all this week entry wise.
Nellie Boddum - I mean, I laughed... but for the wrong reasons. Or is it the right reasons? It's hard to tell. I imagine this was a common point for you, but this is extremely short. Quality > quantity, but this didn't really have either. I like that you lightly dragged most of your competitors and judges and some of it was funny, but it felt mostly like "how many fart jokes can I fit in less that 400 words". You started off pretty strong, and I wish all your jokes had the same balance of quality and quantity, but it got shorter and shorter as it progressed, and it seemed like you just ran out of things to say.
Nina Williams - This was another weird entry. I've never seen any of the Housewives series so maybe a lot of the intended humor is lost on me...? It feels risky to use humor that only a small niche of the group might understand. I enjoyed your self awareness in the first paragraph which illicted a chuckle out of me, but that's it. I'm totally sure what you were really going for in this entry, but I guess I admire your creativity in doing something totally unique compared to everyone else!
Apologies this is so late!
