A 52-year-old Iranian man allegedly poured liquid all over his Filipina girlfriend before setting her on fire in a family restaurant in Ibaraki prefecture, north of Tokyo, Japanese media reported on Sat, Nov 12.
The couple suffered burns and were both were unconscious when they were taken to the hospital.
No one else was harmed during the incident.
They had already been advised by the police to avoid each other after a dispute about the custody of their child.
