You like Sinner's Prayer but you're @ing her bc she didn't serve something like TFM? Ok.
lol I didn't @ her because she didn't serve TFM, it was just the context of her going from such a great pop album to this.
And yes, Sinner's Prayer is good
It annoys me that people are comparing CTM to Meghan. That sound has been around for decades.
This. It's the 60's Phil Spector "Wall of Sound" sound, most notably used in Christmas music (Mariah's AIWFCIY, Kelly's Underneath the Tree, Christmas (Baby Please Come Home), etc
People complain a lot about ARTPOP's tracklist order, but this makes less sense. Perfect Illusion doesn't fit there at all. Joanne should have been next to Angel Down and Million Reasons.
i expect some of the navy would have better taste in music after Rhi gave them a music lecture via Anti
but i guess the education just went downhill after this is what you came for.
Diamond Heart - 9.5/10 (Didn't think I'd like this song as much as I do judging the snippet, but it's great!)
A-YO - 8.5/10 (Catchy, but not my favorite. I need to listen to it more)
Joanne - 8/10 (Very whimsical and cute; not my fave however)
John Wayne - 8/10 (A little forgettable, I know I'll like it once I listen to it more)
Dancin' In Circles - 9.5/10 (Definitely my favorite so far, sounds like a twangy TFM track. Love it though I wish the weird whispering chorus part was different)
Perfect Illusion - 9.5/10 (I've always loved it, although it's definitely not her best, I don't think it deserves all the hate it gets. However, I understand why this was the lead single - definitely the most "radio friendly" even though it didn't do well)
Million Reasons - 9/10 (Great song. Loved it the first time I listened to it)
Sinner's Prayer - 7.5/10 (Not my favorite. It's too Johnny Cash for me and too folky - coming from a country music fan)
Come To Mama - 6/10 (Probably my least favorite. It's 50s/60s classical broadway style doesn't appeal to me. Hopefully it'll be better with age, but I don't see myself listening to this all that much. Though, I can acknowledge that it's not a bad song)
Hey Girl - 8.5/10 (I don't really get the hate for this song, it's really not bad at all. Although, I agree I was expecting something more powerful and upbeat but it's still good)
Angel Down - 8/10 (I like it but it's not my favorite. I know I can get into it more once I give it a few more listens)
Overall, it's definitely not my favorite Gaga album, but I do respect it and I do like it far more than I originally thought (the snippets didn't impress me). I think this album is very big for her artistically, it proves how versatile she is as an artist.
I don't necessarily hate any of the songs, but this is the first time around that I'll definitely be skipping around a lot.
I'll obviously always love what she puts out.
As of right now, my trinity of songs are: Diamond Heart, Dancin' In Circles & Perfect Illusion
People acted weird when I said Florence sung circles around Gaga when the Hey Girl snippet leaked. The full track further confirms that. Gaga shouldn't sing outside of her lane and not with someone who is a better singer.
