It seems to be working with "Million Reasons". It's interesting to see people who are usually not into her being touched by the song. If a classic rock/country conservative can relate to a meat wearing bisexual girl who got vomited on even for a second, her job is already done.
The thing is, it wasn't just ultra liberals buying The Fame, TFM and BTW. I'm sure a ton of republicans and conservatives enjoyed her old music regardless is they agreed with her political views or not.
Hell, I know Jehovahs Witnesses who owned The Fame album.
She knows good and damn well this wasn't in her mind when she was making these songs. She wanted to collaborate with Ronson and Bloodpop to appeal to the GP again, but the music isn't up to par and people aren't buying, so now she wants to relate it to the current political climate.

If she wanted to appeal to the gp again she would surely make songs that sound like all the popular current ones. The fact that she has gone all country and you are still trying it with the "she's chasing the gp"

If she wanted to appeal to the GP then she would've made Uptown Funkish songs with Ronson and Sorry-ish songs with Bloodpop but she didn't.
