Sinner's Prayer should have been the first single from Damita Joanne. If you're gonna talk about doing something out of the box, why put out the supposedly only radio-friendly song on the record (even though it sucked, but she apparently didn't realize that)?
ARTPOP would have done better if the media didn't screw her over with the Katy comparisons. Gaga got a lot of negative press leading up to the release of the album.
Of course, the Katy comparisons could have been avoided if Gaga didn't rush-release Applause when it started to leak.
It was just a bad, mismanaged era all around. But the media made it worse.
