I feel like she, herself, as a strong black female figure in popular culture is a big deal. But imo her music hasn't been genuinely as larger than life as her being a strong black female figure in popular culture, if you guys get me. It wasn't until the self-titled album that people actually took her music seriously and even so she doesnt own the charts/radio for some reason.

People have made her into a living icon. This cannot be argued. But I think it has everything to do with using her as a conduit for social politics and less to do with what she was bringing to the table pre-s/t. Theres seriously something about her thats lacking that a lot of people are too wrapped up in hype to account for.

Exactly. People are so reluctant to compare Beyoncé to legends and give her her credit because she still feels current, even after all this time. She's still relevant and is competing with people who literally grew up listening to her music. People don't even realize that Bey left almost her entire generation behind

And she's showing no signs of stopping (the breaks between her last 3 albums have actually gotten shorter each time) The impact will continue! A LEGEND!
