Exactly! It didn't even occur to me until a little while ago, like I think both visuals are great and I like them, but they're polar differences

The single cover looks amazing. it gives me 90's grunge teas, but what's so awesome is that it actually looks like one of those 90's sets. She looks bigger than life because of the angle. I kind of don't get the whole "glamour shot" princess that you guys want every era. It's annoying. The Applause single cover was cute, but I'd rather her not look like a used tampon this era, thanks.

I remember when the BR single cover came out and a lot of people found it ugly.

I'm so excited, I love that she's stripped down and got rid of all the 'artsy' stuff. This looks much more genuine and hopefully the sound will follow.

ffff I did consider that, I really hope it's not the case

I'm not saying she necessarily did this but ARTPOP often felt like she was just throwing random visuals together with not much thought or planning and I just hope she learnt her lesson and has put loads of thought into all of the visuals etc of this era.
