I wasn'f disappointed at all. The fashion was on point this year. We got Britney, Ariana, Nicki, Beyonce, and Rihanna all on the same stage in one night. Joanne The Scammer scammed her way into the mainstream spotlight. The #1 song on Billboard was performed. Kanye was great. Serena was great. Beyonce made history with her wins. It was a wonderful night for pop culture imo
The production was a mess, but the performances were actually quite good. Of course Beyoncé was the highlight of the show, Rihanna was entertaining even though there were a couple of hiccups, and Ariana was cute. Poor Britney started out so strong and it just went downhill as soon as G-Eazy stepped out.

You know the VMAs were **** when "the fashion was on point" is the first thing said by those who liked the show.
It was bad, but it could have been good if the 2 hosts weren't so terrible.
Yes it was awful boring such a none event but it's MTV the one to blame since they only care for beyonce to be there and the presenters (except of Kim Kardashian and Jimmy Fallon) were very D-list / irrelevant they could do better.
You guys do this with EVERY award show, EVERY year.
For some reason ATRL (and Pop stans in general) fail to realize this is just some notable artists performing hits and accepting awards to keep you somewhat entertained for a few hours. It's fine for what it is, and not what you guys continue to hype it up as every year. Y'all always get into some 2003 nostalgia and then expect a repeat every single year when 2-3 good artists are announced to show up, then say how disappointed you are when it's the same Award show.
The hosting was indeed terrible and just has fell now, but the show (performers + awards) lived pretty much to what it is every year. Two or three people stood out, while the rest just made time pass -- this has always been the case, even in the nostalgic times whether people want to realize or not. It is what it is.
