I just heard the new VIXX song and while I think I like it I'm a little surprised by the sound. Like Dynamite, it's kind of reminiscent of SHINee, but while Dynamite was just a vague similarity this one's, like, distinctly SHINee. I feel like Devine Channel are just recycling unused material.
Also, Love Me Do is great.
EDIT: asf;kdj wait Dynamite was written by Andrew Choi who wrote on the Misconceptions series. I knew there was a reason it sounded that way.
Dynamite screamed SHINee to me, but this one feels nothing like them.
Am I the only one that prefers the less sexy and dark concepts for girl groups?
I mean the super cutesy stuff is kinda cloying, but I like what Mamamoo, Red Velvet, GFriend, Twice, etc have going on
You know, I really hate the cute/schoolgirl concept.
But, the other day I was thinking about how when the 2ne1-ushered "edgy, tough" concept trend was a thing, it was just as annoying/produced just as many terrible songs.
Though I do lean more towards the dark/sexy concepts, I'm starting to think the general issue is the groups all following trends instead of finding their own concept.

Not the production, but the vocal style and the melody sound exactly like them to me. I think it's the breathy verses -> huge belty chorus since that's not super common in k-pop and I tend to associate it with SHINee. It's very Misconceptions pt. II.
I'm listening to it rn and I feel like I can literally hear the line division, especially Jonghyun/Taemin in the beginning.
