There are awards for touring and best live acts. What there aren't is a lot of awards for sales. Only the BBMA, which awards for sales and chart peaks. Out of the many, many award shows, they're the only one. Most other award shows award for popularity and mostly critical reception. What again, do the VMAs hand out awards for?
But to be clear, for some, touring doesn't matter unless their faves are slaying at it. Hence the fickleness and hypocrisy. Of course I would be mad if I spent one era bragging about how my fave is a stadium act, only to turn around watch her struggle to sell out arenas in the next era.
Needless to say, the only ones complaining about how it doesn't matter has never seen their fave ranked in the top 10 touring acts for females, EVER, meanwhile almost every other major pop girl has circulated through the top 10 with at least one of their tours. KI.
