I will not encourage my child into mental instability so nope. It's a hard subject and I really don't envy people living in that situation, but as far as I am concerned you're born Female or Male, not both nor neither. It's a mental problem imo.

I said No and I am still saying no. It has nothing to do with being gay/straight.. Either you're male or female.. there is no 3rd gender, it does not exist, but i am not dissmissing people mental issues and struggles. But the fact that you're comparing that to being gay is silly. Gay people like having sex with/are attracted to people of their gender.. that's it. They are not confused about whether they are male of female. As far as I am concerned, there is no such thing as agender, there is nothing subjective about that. I don't mind nor judge people who fall into those ways and have that issue, it's their life after all. But yeah "agender" isn't a thing imo.

Gender is male or female. That's what it is. You are born male or female, based on genitalia. There's your standard gender labelling. Following this, when some people grow up, they feel as though, inside, they are male or female. Transgender.

All a third gender (or "gender-neutral") seems to be when I read up about it, is a rejection of gender norms. But if you have a penis and reject gender norms (or "don't feel male/female"), you're still male. The same with a vagina.

In my opinion the only exceptions to standard gender labelling (penis = man, vagina = woman) are when there are either birth defects that leave a child without a clear-cut gender, or when, during the lifespan of a human, they decide that they associate more with a different gender to the one in which they were born.

If you don't agree with your gender's stereotypes, why does that mean you're 'gender-neutral'? Not everyone matches their group's stereotypes. Not all gays go around screaming "YAAAASSSSS", but if you're gay, you're still gay?

Gender is what you feel, what you’ve learnt, what society says you are and how you should behave and what it means to be your gender. Sex is biological. It’s what you look like and how your body functions.

And you can't say you don't judge people who say they are "agender" and then say that it's not a thing. By invalidating the reality of it, you are invalidating these people's emotions. And why are you assuming that these people are "confused about whether they are male or female". They are telling you they are neither! That's not confused. And gay people get confused about their sexuality all the time.

What it seems you're doing is applying how you feel about sex and gender (what's right for you) and expecting everyone else to feel the same way. You don't get to tell how someone feels. We need to be empathetic. Even if this doesn't exist, what's the harm in using the pronouns they want to be called? Nothing.

What kind of rational is this? So? Most of the world identifies with “he” or “she”. Amazing! And what about those who do not? What the original comment was saying was that all these people saying “no” are clearly not really going to make fully compassionate parents with open minds.

It would be hard for me but if they are at a age where they completely understand their own body then why not?
