With the new wave of ignorance and islamophobia.....I think that he has gotten it....
So my question to the US gay people on ATRL is: Is the gay community going to vote trump? (you included)
No, because the gay community has always spread the message of love over hate, and we are able to recognize that the views and actions of one extremist does not represent the scope of those that are Muslim, some who are gay. The LGBT community is able to recognize the oppression of other groups, and see the ban on Muslims as a clear degradation of people's characters based on one trait of theirs. The LGBT community is able to recognize that if we do not accept Muslims in our country, then our LGBT Muslim brothers and sisters will not receive the asylum requests from their home countries to the USA to live their life a little bit more openly. The LGBT community is able to realize that every population living on the margins of society will face negative ramifications from the election of Donald Trump and his lifetime appointments to the Supreme Court. The LGBT community stands mostly in solodarity against the extreme policy positions of Trump, and for good reason.
Why would we vote for a man who wants to take away our right to marriage? Why as a group of people that gets discriminated against on a daily basis should we vote for a man who if elected President will discriminate against other groups of people (Banning Mexicans and Muslims). We know what discrimination is like and we shouldn't support it.
No, and criticising the doctrine of Islam and the Islamic world does not make you a Trump supporter. The majority of people doing that in here are atheists who have no love for the Christian right.
I prefer his warped, twisted stances over Hillary's clear pandering and flip-flopping most of the time, tbh. At least we can believe him when he says gay marriage should be up to the states, who knows what Hillary really plans on doing
