Random, but am i alone in thinking Halloween H20 was actually decent? It scared me when i was young, but i think it's a good sequel and conclusion to the story.

I've always appreciated H20. I think the biggest problem was the short runtime and them completely disregarding continuity.

The Conjuring 2 was AMAZING. Possibly better than the first! I actually had goosebumps at times, which is hard to happen for me!

Yesssss I loved Conjuring 2. It feels a lot "bigger" than the first one did, and the acting is better. That being said, prepare for at least 3 super cringeworthy life lesson lines!

I live for H20. The way Laurie is going after Michaek with an ax and her butch cut . Not the scariest or most well done, but it's super entertaining.

just rewatched The Conjuring and god damn it, it's so ****ing solid. The directing, acting, writing, pacing and scares are all on point.

Rewatched "The Conjuring" right before I went to see the sequel. It literally left me shaking, I couldn't even get up to turn on the lights and it was freaking 12:00 pm Such a scary dark and twisted film. Honestly, I think I can safely say it became one of my all-time favs.

As of the sequel, it was great. It scared the **** out of me too. The acting was superb. Vera is on another level. The only thing that I do not understand how it goes with the story (and how that can be considered "based on true events) is the Crooked man The CGI was terrible, it wasn't scary, it was so laugh-worthy. I don't understand why they put that in there.

I will watch The Conjuring 2 next week, I watched yesterday one movie called Ghoul, I really liked it and it had some haunting scenes.

I'm so pumped for this painting scene everyone is talking about in TC2! I'm trying not to exaggerate my expectations though. I'm hard to scare, and don't wanna be let down.

Haven't watched TC1 but really want to see TC2 (my friend is dragging me tomorrow, and I don't have time to watch the first). Am I missing out, is it mandatory to watch the first? Do they make any references that I might not understand?

It is pretty much a James Wan signature. Just like the song (Tiptoe Through The Tulips) in Insidious, and the music box in The Conjuring. It's trying to created a eerie dissonance that catches audience's attention (of course, I wouldn't say it was well done in Conjuring 2)

At the same time, it also extends the Demonology from the first film. Demons latch onto human object to strain people. Annabelle/Music Box in the first film are the human objects that got possessed; Crooked man zoetrope is the demonic object in The Conjuring 2.

The funny part is that people all think it is done with CGI, but according to James:

“The Crooked Man is a real actor,” Wan revealed. “It’s funny, a lot of people have said that he is a CGI character, and the actor who plays him has gone on social media to say ‘wait, I’m a CGI character now?’ He’s a real person, and the movement you see in the film — that’s actually him doing it. He moves like a stop motion animated character, I kid you not.”
