Truth. We are spiritual being and I sometimes feel like trapped in this body because actually I am more than this flesh and blood. Manifested in physical dimension to experience stuff which is truly a part of God's creation and to His Divine will.

The problem with many non-believers is that they have this idea in their head of a God that is not align with the real God of the Bible. The God we believe in, is not a bearded man on a cloud. God, as we can conceive him with our limited capabilities, is love, life, creation, truth, perfection, opposite of that which takes away life, love; that which is not truth.

So when you ask can I honestly cope or live without the idea of God, it's like asking can I possibly live without believing in love, that real love will want what is best for me.

If you're baptized you are, but that is not the ideal situation. Church is for communion with our brothers and sisters, our extended earthly family. Not going to church is no different than a child who refuses to eat at the family table and would rather isolate himself/herself and eat in his/her room. If this is a problem for you, therapy with a counselor might help alleviate any underlying issues you might have with developing social relationships.

going to a christian church has always made me feel kinda uncomfortable and isolated ever since I was 12 or 13. having a personal relationship with god is more important imo

I have to apologize. Because I rarely come here I forget that there are people from other countries. I am so busy with other things that I don't take my time with posts here, so I didn't ask what were your reasons for not going. I have met countless people who say they are Christian but don't want to go to church because they don't like to socialize, so I made the mistake of assuming you were having the same problem.

But now that I know your reason, I can say that just try to go as much as possible. Don't feel guilty about not going as much as other people, and definitely don't think you're not a Christian.

Does anyone know a book where you can learn how to connect more with God and how to properly pray and stuff. And where there are like lessons in? Apart from the Bible of course

The Bible is probably the easiest book. I'd recommend reading the NLT (New Living Translation) it's a modern translation and easier to understand than the King James Bible version. Start Matthew or John and read all the way to revelation. I'd also recommend downloading the KWVE app and the "Got Questions" app. The KWVE is Christian radio where pastors teach straight out of the Bible. They explain things very well. The "Got Questions" app is an app with a whole bunch of biblical answers to questions Christian's have. There answers are biblical and very detailed. They literally have an answer to every question, and if they don't they'll answer any question you have.

I read 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle this past year when I was going through some tough times. It's more spirit-guided than Christianity-guided, but was very helpful to me.

I love this thread I used to go to church every Sunday, but my parents stopped taking me when I was like 12, and that made me really sad Anyway, I still feel a very close connection to God, and I'd like to go back to church again soon. I pray a lot, and I feel very blessed for everything God has done for me, and I love him so much
